Sometimes, new isn’t better. Sometimes, you just want the “old” version back.
Maybe the “new” version of a program just has too many features, bells and whistles – none of which you are particularly fond of. Or the new version doesn’t work on an old pc/operating system that you’re trying to get a little more mileage out of.
Or maybe you’ve found an old file in your archives and you no longer have the program to open it with. Or maybe you’re just longing for the “good old days” of WordPerfect 5.1 or Lotus 1-2-3 2.2 or PacMan!
If you’re looking for a particular version of a software program or an operating system that is no longer commercially available, you are likely to find it on one of several sites dedicated to archiving and making available (for free) old versions of software.
Reminder: Whenever downloading files from the internet, exercise due diligence. And in the work environment we recommend that you confer with your IT department or consultant before downloading and installing any application.
